LONDON (ENGLAND) (ITALPRESS) – The Premier League will be back on the field on 17 June. The English League has made official the dates for the resumption of the championship suspended for the coronavirus emergency. As anticipated by the main overseas media, two recoveries from the 28th day, Aston Villa-Sheffield United and Manchester City-Arsenal, which had been postponed for the League Cup final, will give the new start. On June 19, however, the first full round will be played and, since all the matches will have to be held behind closed doors, the clubs have agreed to the live TV of all the 92 games that are missing to complete the season between Sky Sports, BT Sport, BBC Sport and Amazon Prime. “It is important to ensure that as many people as possible can watch the games from home,” explained the English League’s managing director, Richard Masters. Schedules are also set: on the weekend the games will be played at 9pm Italian on Friday, at 1.30pm, 4pm, 6.30pm and 9pm on Saturday, at 1pm, 3pm, 5.30pm and 8pm on Sunday, and 9pm on Monday. For midweek rounds, however, it will be played from Tuesday to Thursday in two time slots, 19 and 21 Italian. So far 12 people have tested coronavirus positive after 2,752 tests across the league. The recovery protocol includes tests twice a week and a week’s isolation for those who will test positive. The Premier stopped with Liverpool in the lead and 25 points ahead of City who played one game less.
