Three thousand lung ventilators built in three months by FCA to treat Covid-19 patients. “It is an extraordinary result – underlines FCA in a note – achieved thanks to the collaboration between the Civil Protection with the extraordinary Commissioner for the emergency Coronavirus Domenico Arcuri, the Siare Engineering of Valsamoggia (Bologna), the only national company producing these special equipment electromedical units led by Giuseppe and Gianluca Preziosa, and the Italian workers of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The employees were coordinated by the Manufacturing Manager – Premium Brands Emea of FCA, Luigi Galante, by Ennio Meccia, director of Manufacturing Engineering Emea of FCA and by Carlo Di Giacomo, director of the Cento plant (Ferrara) “.

Before the pandemic, Siare Engineering’s monthly production was around 125 machines per month. Thanks to the manufacturing and management knowledge of the Manufacturing Engineering of the Emea region of FCA, which are based on the Wcm (World Class Manufacturing) method, production increased from 8 to 80 units per day. The strong point in the new organization of the work was the possibility of being able to build in the FCA plant in Cento, a jewel for the production of high-performance motors for markets all over the world, the group of solenoid valves, the beating heart of the fans, and , in parallel, find the optimal technological solution to insert the solenoid valves from Cento in the production line of the Siare Engineering laboratories in Bologna. The construction of the solenoid valves has allowed a reduction in the production time of the complete equipment in Valsamoggia by at least 30-50%.
