Francesco Profumo, appointed by the Municipality of Turin led by the mayor Chiara Appendino, was confirmed president of the Compagnia di San Paolo, the Piedmontese banking foundation which was the first shareholder of Intesa Sanpaolo with 9.88%. The entrepreneur Rosanna Ventrella, appointed by the Turin Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed vice president. In addition to Profumo and Ventrella, the management committee includes Carlo Picco (designated by the Piedmont Region), Alessandro Barberis (Unioncamere Piemonte) and Nicoletta Viziano (co-opted by the General Council).
Profumo, born in 1953, engineer, rector of the Polytechnic of Turin, president of the CNR and minister of Education and University in the Monti government between 2011 and 2013. For him it is a reconfirmation to the Company, of which he is president since 2016.
